Abu Dhabi: More than 50,000 students from across the UAE are set to visit an international vocational skills contest that will be held in the capital this October.

The WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 competition, which will be organised by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Training, will see 1,300 participants from more than 70 countries pitting their skills against one another in 51 competitions.

The WorldSkills Abu Dhabi is the 44th edition of the bi-annual competition that encourages the development of vocational skills and crafts. It is being held in the Middle East and North Africa region for the first time.
