Dubai: The Dubai Government Excellence Programme (DGEP) announced on Wednesday that the Dubai Government Achievements Exhibition (DGAE) will for the first time be open to federal entities in its third edition, which will be held from March 30 to April 1.

The exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

DGEP unveiled a list of 32 government authorities that will take part in this year’s event.

Abdullah Al Shaibani, Secretary-General of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of DGEP, said, “The Dubai Executive Council will for the first time showcase their achievements at the exhibition.”

Al Shaibani added that the aim of the exhibition is to raise awareness of the development of government work, from a routine-driven pattern to one based on innovation and creativity, supported by technology.

He added that this year’s edition will be held under the theme ‘Local Government and Global Achievements’. This year, he said, they expect the exhibition to attract international delegations as the Annual Investment Meeting 2015 organised by the UAE Ministry of Economy will coincide with it.

Dr Ahmad Al Nuseirat, Coordinator General of DGEP, said the exhibition is a platform for government entities to showcase the services that they deliver to their customers.

“Next year we will open the exhibition to exhibitors from Arab countries and the region and in the future we are aiming to make it an international exhibition, where government entities from any country can showcase their services and achievements,” Al Nuseirat said.

He added, “Some government entities will be providing some of their services to visitors of the exhibition, such as the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs - Dubai and the Dubai Health Authority,” he added.

Dubai Municipality and Dubai Land Department are Strategic Sponsors of the event; Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) is Media Sponsor, and Expo 2020 is Strategic Partner.

Dubai Economic Council, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, Dubai Police, Dubai Smart Government, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, International Humanitarian City, and Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities are some of the entities that will be taking part in the exhibition.
