Two people have been arrested by Sharjah Police for selling illegal slimming and cosmetic products through social media channels.
Police said the arrested men also promoted fake cosmetics and medicines and the seized products were found to be harmful to public health.
The incident came to light after police was notified about a woman promoting fake products online.
A team was formed to track down the woman, but the police found two men behind the crime.
Police then set a trap for the suspects and arrested them red-handed.
Sharjah Police, meanwhile, urged the public not to deal with retailers of such fake products and to report any illegal activity on social media channels.
