Sharjah: In a series of unrelated stabbing cases, three men -- two of whom were brothers --  were killed and two others were injured following three violent brawls during the week in the emirate, Sharjah police said on Monday.

In a fatal case of stabbing on Friday, two brothers from Pakistan were stabbed to death following an altercation between a group of men, which took a violent turn, Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The fight erupted at Al Sajja Industrial Area in the emirate on Friday night between a group of men in their 20s.

The brothers, aged 28 and 22, were brought to Al Kuwaiti hospital by some people. However, an official from the hospital told Gulf News that they were already dead when they were admitted to the hospital. The younger brother had received fatal stab wounds to the left side of his chest, while the older brother was stabbed in the left side of his chest, neck and abdomen.

The bodies of the victims were transferred to a forensic laboratory for autopsy.

A number of men at the scene who witnessed the incident were summoned by the police for questioning.

Police investigation continues to determine the assailants who led the fatal assault on the two men.

In another case of stabbing last Tuesday, a 33-year-old Pakistani man died in Al Qasimi Hospital after he was stabbed in his left leg at a restaurant in Al Nahda area of Sharjah.

The man was stabbed by his friend following an argument, police said.

An official at Al Kuwaiti hospital told Gulf News they received the injured man last Tuesday at around 9.30pm.

He was operated for his injuries at Al Kuwaiti hospital and later transferred to Al Qasimi hospital due to his serious condition. He succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
