Ajman: The Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ajman Police have recently arrested three men for planting marijuana at the farm of their sponsor.
Lieutenant Colonel Saif Khalifa Al Muhiri, head of the Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ajman Police, said police acted after receiving a tip-off that three Asian men were cultivating marijuana on the farm in one area of Ajman, where they worked.
Police formed team to investigate the accuracy of the information.
Police then raided the farm and found five plants of the marijuana drug. The height of the plants reached up to one meter, and were hidden among the trees in the farm.
The suspects were arrested red-handed and confessed to their crime. They told police that they grew marijuana for purpose of trafficking. The case was referred to the public prosecution for further action.
Major-General Shaikh Sultan Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, praised the efforts of Anti-Narcotic Department and appreciated its role in combating drug crimes.
