Sharjah: Continuing their anti-car theft awareness campaign, Sharjah Police on Monday advised residents not to leave their cars with the engines running, and with no one inside, or leave the car doors unlocked, or leave the keys with random cleaners to park it.

They also urged people not to leave any valuables in vehicles, to not park in isolated or poorly lit areas and avoid parking in sand lots for long stretches. Residents are also urged to invest in car alarms.

Owners whose cars have been broken into have been urged to immediately alert the police, and not touch the vehicle till police arrive.

Installing a GPS in the car could also help find stolen cars, police said.
