CRIME Sharjah Police arrest 25 Ramadan beggars

59 illegal residents held following raids

Sharjah: Efforts to combat begging have been stepped up during Ramadan and Sharjah Police have arrested 59 illegal residents, including 25 beggars, following raids in different parts of the emirate.

A senior police official said the police have advised residents to beware of professional beggars as they exploit people’s religious sentiments to make easy money and should be discouraged. To report beggars call Sharjah Police on 065623322.
