Sharjah: A fourth falling accident in five days has claimed yet another life of a resident living in a high-rise building, police confirmed on Tuesday.

A 33-year-old Indian man died after falling from the balcony of his 16th floor apartment in Sharjah on Tuesday morning, police said.

The incident follows the falling deaths last Thursday of a four-year-old girl, a housemaid on Sunday as well as a 12-year-old girl on Monday.

A Sharjah Police official told Gulf News that the apparent cause of the latest accident was not immediately available.

Police are investigating whether the fall was suicide-related.

However, Sharjah Police confirmed the incident happened around 9am requiring emergency officials to respond to the scene.

Police did not elaborate in which area of Sharjah the accident happened.

Police said the man is identified as M.A.S.

A team from the Criminal and Investigation Department (CID) was dispatched to the building, The man was transferred to Al Kuwaiti Hospital at a round 10am where he was pronounced dead and the body was moved to the forensic laboratory.

The case is with Al Buhairah police station.
