Sharjah: Sharjah Police have launched an investigation into the death of an Afghan worker.

The man was found dead in industrial area No 8 on Wednesday morning, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The 24-year-old worker, who was identified as G.S.H., was found by his roommates at around 11am lying in a pool of blood, said the official.

They transferred him to Al Qasimi Hospital where he died later.

An official at the hospital said the worker was suffering from bleeding in his brain when he was admitted to the hospital. Initial investigations revealed that the worker was attacked with a sharp tool.

The body of the victim has been transferred to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy.
