Ajman: The Criminal Investigation Department of the Ajman Police on Sunday arrested two men who allegedly impersonated cops, entered houses and robbed valuables and cash.

Colonel Abdullah Saif Al Matroushi, Director of Criminal Investigation Department at Ajman Police, said the suspects, from Comoros and an Asian, were arrested after they entered a house posing as policemen and stole Dh12,900, a piece of gold and two mobile phones.

The police had received complaints from the house owner. The suspects requested to see the ID card of the house owner before asked him to open the safe. They took cash, gold and two mobile phones before tying the victim up and fleeing from the house.

The police managed to identify the suspects and arrested them. The suspects confessed to the charges and a case has been transferred to the Public Prosecution Department for further legal action.
