Sharjah: Sharjah Police have arrested a young motorist for reckless driving in a residential area in Khor Fakkan and putting lives of people in danger after a video of his road stunt went viral on social media.
The video clip circulated on social media showed the suspect stunt driving and deliberately making loud noises to attract attention.
The clip also showed the driver’s face covered with a red cloth and his friend sitting in the passenger seat.
Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Al Obaid, director of the Eastern Region Police, said the clip, which was filmed and posted by witnesses, went viral.
Col Al Obaid said police managed to identify the driver, arrested him and seized his car.
The youngster had been charged with driving recklessly and putting the lives of others in danger.
Col Al Obaid said that the police patrols will be constantly monitoring roads to curb stunt driving.
