Ras Al Khaimah: A murder suspect was arrested by Ras Al Khaimah Police after he fled the scene of the crime.

The accused, a 30-year-old Asian man, allegedly killed his 39-year-old compatriot over a personal dispute early on Monday.

The victim was found dead behind a construction site in Ras Al Khaimah.

He had been strangled with a piece of clothing and planks of wood were thrown over him to hide the body, police said.

Colonel Abdullah Ali Munkis, Director of the Criminal Investigation Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the body was found on Monday morning behind a building under construction.

It was discovered by construction workers at the site which belongs to a local company, police said, adding that it was sent to the coroner for examination.

Police formed a team to track down the suspect and arrested him.

The suspect confessed, police said, to his crime and the case was referred to the public prosecution for further action.
