Sharjah: Sharjah Police have arrested a gang of four men for selling alcohol to individuals in the industrial area No 11.

All the suspects, who are Bangladeshis, are accused of selling alcohol. They took advantage of their own restaurant and stored some of the alcohol inside the refrigerator of the restaurant and the rest inside a car which belongs to one of them.

Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department was tipped off about the illegal activity and a police team raided their restaurant and caught them red-handed while they were transferring alchol from the refrigerator to the car. Police found a large quantity of alcoholic beverages in their possession and a sum of money. The suspects confessed to the crime and have been referred to the public prosecution.

Sharjah Police said they would step up their efforts to root out any illegal activities concerning the storage, sale and promotion of alcohol.
