Sharjah: Four people were killed and 16 others sustained injuries in traffic accidents during the Eid holidays.

The figures were released by the Sharjah Police on Sunday.

Major Khalid Al Kay, director of Traffic Awareness and Media Section of Sharjah Police, said the accidents were caused by speeding and sudden deviation.

Meanwhile, the Sharjah Police operations room received 32,350 calls during the Eid Al Adha break.

Lieutenant Colonel Jasem Bin Hada, director-general of the Central Operations Room, urged the public to call 999 only in case of emergencies and not to seek informaton.
