Sharjah: Four juveniles have been arrested for a string of break-ins in a car showroom, shops and government departments in the emirate, police said on Tuesday.

Colonel Harran Mubarak Al Jazai, acting director of the Central Region Police of Sharjah Police, said the police sprang into action after receiving a number of complaints from government departments as well as owners of car showroom and shopkeepers saying their premises had been broken into.

The suspects are aged between 15 and 16.

Police said the suspects stole two vehicles and number plates of vehicles from the industrial area as well as items and cash from shops.

They fixed the stolen number plate on to the stolen vehicle, which they used to perform stunts in deserted areas.

The suspects burnt one of the stolen cars to destroy evidence but the police discovered their crime.

Police found two of the suspects were involved in similar cases.
