Sharjah: The father of one of the suspects in the ‘racy wedding video’ case allegedly got into a fight with a police officer assigned to guard his son, an official at Sharjah Police told Gulf News.

The police officer filed a complaint against the father with Khor Fakkan Police. The matter has been transferred to Public Prosecution.

The fracas occurred when the suspect’s father went to visit him in hospital where he had been admitted as he was unwell. The police officer guarding the suspect allegedly refused to let the father see his son.

A verbal argument ended in fisticuffs, prompting the police officer to report the incident to authorities. He accused the father of preventing him from doing his duty.

Meanwhile, two more suspects in the case have been arrested and referred to the public prosecution. One of them was arrested in Abu Dhabi where he had fled.

A second man was arrested at Dubai International Airport when he arrived to the UAE.

Three suspects are still on the run.

The court is hearing allegations of indecency against suspects who attended a wedding last month and were deemed to have engaged in what some may consider inappropriate behaviour, authorities said.

A second court hearing in the case is scheduled on April 16.
