Sharjah: An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body on Sunday morning. There were signs he had been tortured, a Sharjah Police official told Gulf News.

The body was found inside a building under construction at a private university in the Muweilah area of Sharjah. The Egyptian victim has been identified as E.S.E., aged 23.

A police patrol, paramedics and a team from CID cordoned off the scene of the incident.

The man’s body was transferred to Kuwaiti Hospital at around 11.10am where he was pronounced dead. His body was moved to the forensic laboratory for an autopsy.

A Sharjah Police official said foul play is suspected due to the torture marks on the man’s body.
