Fujairah: Authorities in Fujairah are joining forces to investigate the death of a man whose body was found dumped in a rocky area in Fujairah, a police official told Gulf News.

A hunt has been launched after the unfortunate discovery was made in the mountainous area known as Al Heil.

The police operations room received a call on Wednesday at around 7am reporting the discovery.

Police believe the body belongs to a 29-year-old Emirati man, identified as S.A.S., but police await the forensic report to cull more details about the victim and to learn about his whereabouts before he died.

Fujairah Police were alerted over the incident when a member of the public spotted the body on a rocky road.

Police patrols, personnel from CID and forensic experts were dispatched to the scene of the incident where the body was moved to hospital and then to the forensic laboratory.

Police say it is too early to ascertain what other physical injuries, if any, he had sustained.

A post mortem was due to be carried out on Thursday.

The area was sealed off by police while forensic experts examined the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
