Dubai: Dubai police are investigating the mysterious death of a woman who fell from a high-rise apartment in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT).
The incident took place around 3.30pm on Tuesday. Residents told XPRESS the woman fell from the 18th floor of Jumeirah Bay X-1 tower in Cluster X of JLT. They claimed the Russian woman, thought to be in her 40s, was dressed only in her underwear. “She often visited our store with her son,” said a nearby shopkeeper.
A security guard said the woman lived in a two-bedroom apartment and had moved in over a year ago. It’s not clear if the woman fell from a window or a balcony.
Of late, JLT has been rocked by several high-rise deaths.
On February 13, a teenage Indian girl ended her life after jumping to her death from her 38th storey penthouse in Goldcrest Views building in cluster V.
In May 2013, a 29-year-old newly married Brit plunged from the Laguna Tower in Cluster A. Last April, an Indian man committed suicide from the 10th floor of the Al Seef 3 tower in Cluster U after a row with his wife.
