DUBAI A Tunisian airport attendant was produced in court on Wednesday after being charged with stealing a handbag from a Indian man at the airport, which contained four gold earrings, a cheque book and a credit card.

Records show that the suspect and his friend, who is also being tried, used the credit card to buy goods worth Dh12,000 before they were arrested.

“I was at the check-out counter at the Dubai airport,” the Indian victim said, “when I noticed my handbag had been stolen.”

Court records show that a letter from the victim’s bank showing the credit card’s PIN code was also in the bag.

The duo was arrested after police revised CCTV footage taken from the airport, ATM machines and stores that the suspects used the credit card in.

The next hearing is in April end.
