London: A delegation from Abu Dhabi Police attended the first court hearings of the suspects arrested in connection with the hammer attack on three Emirati sisters at a London hotel last week.
The UAE Ambassador to the UK, Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwe’e, said in a statement on Sunday: “The embassy has promptly moved to action on orders from Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, to provide all it takes to the family and its members who are in London, to help them and provide a safe residence for them in London until the investigation into the case is over.”
Al Mutaiwe’e said Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, “dispatched a team from Abu Dhabi Police which provided psychological support to the victims, and ordered coordination with British police to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice as soon as possible.”
Top officials, including Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President, visited the mother of the three sisters at her home to get updates on their condition. Al Mutaiwe’e said the family expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the UAE leadership and to Shaikh Abdullah in particular, for their role in helping them.
