Dubai: A Pakistani man was charged with attempted murder after he tried to stab his Indian supervisor at work but failed.

The Pakistani cleaner, 20, took a medium-sized knife from his home to his workplace and tried to stab the victim, but the other employees managed to stop him before he could inflict any injuries.

The Dubai Public Prosecution transferred the case to the criminal court.

Court documents stated that the two men had previous work-related disputes that led to the incident in May.

The victim told the prosecution that on the day of the incident, after he assigned the workers he manages their jobs, the suspect approached him asking him where he should go for work.

“I told him that he had to go to the place I previously mentioned. Suddenly he pulled out a knife from a newspaper he was holding and charged towards me. I moved back and the other employees managed to hold him back,” the victim told the prosecution.

The suspect then attempted to stab his supervisor again after breaking free, but failed as the workers held him back. The supervisor ran and locked himself in a storage room to hide from his attacker.
