Dubai: A housewife has been accused of using social media to send her nude photos to a jobless man and having sex with him.

The 29-year-old Emirati housewife and the 28-year-old jobless man, from Comoros Islands, met outside their children’s school before they exchanged contact numbers in April.

Then they had unmarried sex three times before things, according to records, went wrong between them and they broke up after the man started pushing the housewife to leave her husband and marry him instead.

The case landed before police interrogators after the housewife contacted Dubai Police’s Al Ameen service to complain that the man had assaulted her and threatened to reveal their relationship to her husband.

The woman claimed that the man had blackmailed her and threatened to dishonour her in front of her husband by showing him nude photos that she had previously sent to him on Keek [a social media network].

Following investigations, prosecutors accused the housewife of sending her nude pictures to the man, who was also charged with aiding and abetting the 29-year-old.

They were also accused of having unmarried sex.

The 28-year-old male defendant was solely accused of threatening to dishonour the woman defendant before her husband and reveal that they had a previous sexual affair if she didn’t return his mobile phone.

The Dubai Court of First Instance recently acquitted the male defendant of threatening to dishonour the housewife due to lack of corroborated evidence.

Meanwhile, when the duo appeared before the Dubai Misdemeanours Court, they denied the accusation of having had unmarried sex.

The woman also pleaded not guilty and dismissed the accusation that she had forwarded her nude photos to the man on Keek.

“She is the one who forwarded her nude photos to me … I did not ask her to send them. She sent them of her own will and I did not encourage her or ask her to send me those nude photos,” the 28-year-old told the court.

When questioned by the police, the housewife alleged that the man first approached her outside the school premises when she was dropping her children.

She claimed that she refused to talk to him or give him her number. One day he parked his vehicle behind hers and threw a mobile phone into her car and then asked her to call him.

The woman told police interrogators that she didn’t have consensual sex with the man but she had to surrender to him after he threatened to tell her husband that they were having an affair.

Meanwhile, the male suspect countered her claims, according to his police statement, and contended that they had consensual sex three times.

The defendants’ lawyers will present their defence arguments before the Misdemeanours Court later this month.
