Dubai: Lawyer Mohammad Al Suwaidi, of Al Suwaidi and Company, has joined the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes’ (ICSID) Panel of Arbitrators.

Al Suwaidi brings 30 years of experience as a litigator and arbitrator to the ICSID and is often engaged in International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and LCIA arbitrations.

He frequently sits as an arbitrator in local and international arbitrations and is known as “the UAE law expert” among the legal community in the UAE.

Al Suwaidi was a member of the Steering Committee of the ICC–UAE – Commission on Arbitration, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) UAE branch and Dubai International Arbitration Centre.

The ICSID was established in 1966 by the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Nationals of Other States (the ICSID Convention).

The ICSID is an independent, depoliticised and the world’s leading institution devoted to international investment dispute settlement. The ICSID is an effective dispute-settlement institution which provides for settlement of disputes by conciliation, arbitration or fact-finding.
