Abu Dhabi: The committee tasked with following up on the orders of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has approved the construction and completion of 228 houses for citizens in different parts of the UAE at a total cost of Dh185 million.

A total of 123 houses will be built in Sharjah’s Kalba, 54 in Al Ruhaib and 51 in Fujairah’s Al Qarya.

The committee, during its meeting held at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, approved the maintenance, renovation and construction of 201 houses at a total cost of Dh104 million.

It also gave its preliminary approval for 607 applications submitted by Emiratis. The applications included requests for the urgent demolition of houses in various parts of the UAE, as well as applications submitted by widows and people with special needs.

The projects are carried out in line with the directives of Shaikh Khalifa and the close follow-up of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The meeting was chaired by Ahmad Juma Al Za’abi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs.

Al Za’abi hailed the support extended by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to the committee and its projects, which are expected to be implemented on schedule.
