Dubai: A total of 39 candidates will get a shot at winning in the fourth edition of the Arab Journalism Award.

The winners of each category will be honoured on May 13 during the annual ceremony which will take place on the final day of the Arab Media Forum, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum , Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Dubai Press Club announced the names of the candidates, which included journalists and media organisations from the Arab world and abroad.

Mona Bu Samra, Director of the Dubai Press Club, said the award this year received 5,008 entries, the highest participation since the award’s inception in 1999.

It is also an 11 per cent increase in participation from last year.
