Dubai: The Dubai Municipality call centre received more calls and complaints in 2014 compared with 2013.

Last year, it took almost 367,500 calls – around 1,000 a day on average. Around a third of the calls – 130, 800 – were complaints or alerts regarding various issues.

By comparison, the 2013 figures were 349,497 calls and 126,349 alerts or complaints.

Most of the calls were related to pest control services and sewage disposal or drainage over the two years. In 2013, calls about stray animals were also common.

Last year, calls were mostly about the cleanliness of food establishments and main streets.
