Ramallah: A senior figure in the Palestinian Authority has had his VIP certificate removed by Israeli authorities, who accuse him of making anti-Israel comments.

Palestinian Security Services Spokesman Adnan Damiri’s freedom of movement within the Palestinian Territories has been curtailed by the certificate revocation, as has his right to enter Israel.

Damiri has angered Israel with a number of comments made in recent months, including his claim that the Israeli operation to find three Israeli teenagers abducted and later found murdered was in fact designed to produce chaos in the Palestinian Territories.

More recently he claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is more dangerous than Daesh leader Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi.

Damiri also said the US and Europe should form a coalition against terrorism perpetuated by Israel against Palestinians.

“Israel deludes itself by thinking revoking VIP certificates will be a hindrance in the face of Palestinian officials to say the truth and defend their people,” he said.

“The truth is that Israeli government is a racist and far right government which practices terrorism against the Palestinian people,” he said. “Let the occupation leave with all its VIP certificates and privileges.”
