GAZA/OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: The Israeli occupation military said on Sunday it had destroyed a cross-border tunnel that ran from Gaza into Israel and Egypt.

Residents in Gaza said the Israeli regime’s jets bombed an area east of the southern town of Rafah, by the Egyptian and Israeli borders, late on Saturday night. The occupation forces confirmed the attack immediately after, but gave no details until Sunday.

There was no immediate comment from Hamas or Egypt, or any reports of casualties.

Tensions have risen since President Donald Trump reversed decades of US policy on December 6 by recognising occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. The occupation army has since killed at least 17 Palestinians.
