Ramallah: Palestinian authorities are investigating the possible murder of a 13-year-old girl from the Majdal Bani Fadil village near Nablus.
Yasmeen Suhail Zain Al Deen’s body was found hanging from her own scarf, leading authorities to believe she had committed suicide.
An autopsy has been ordered to find out whether it was a murder or suicide.
“There are serious cases of violence against women on a daily basis,” Rawda Basir, a women’s rights activist in Nablus, told Gulf News.
In 2015, 28 women were murdered by their families in so-called “honour killings”.
