Riyadh: Prime Minister of Yemen Dr Ahmad Obaid Bin Dhager commended on Saturday the role of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, for its timely intervention to tackle Al Houthi coup attempt, and support the legitimate government of Yemen.

While meeting with the Governor of Aden, Major-General Aidarus Al Zubaidi, in Riyadh, the Yemen’s prime minister called for doubling efforts to bolster the security and stability in Aden and track down the remaining subversive elements to eradicate them, citing the victories of which the most recent was the army victory in Abyan governorate.

They discussed the security, economic and service situations in the governorate, especially oil, electricity, health and water supplies.

Bin Dagher said the government is exerting all efforts to provide electricity supply in the governorate and solve other service problems.

The Yemeni prime minister thanked the governor and the security authorities for their efforts during these difficult circumstances, pledging more government support to the governorate.

For his part, the Governor of Aden reviewed the latest security developments including the seizure of sleeper cells in the governorate. He added that the governorate has restored normality and public tranquillity.

He noted that the Indian Consulate has reopened in Aden to become the first consulate to resume its activities. It will also speed up travel procedures for citizens, and alleviate the suffering of injured who seek to continue treatment abroad.

Meanwhile. the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has sent two humanitarian aid convoys to Abyan governorate, as part of its continuous humanitarian assistance to Yemen.

The convoys included 4,000 food baskets and other basic requirements for the people in the governorate.

The beneficiaries extended thanks and appreciation to the UAE under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

They also confirmed that the UAE’s assistance would cement their resolve to face the challenges.

Local officials in Abyan also expressed their appreciation to the role played by ERC which covers all walks of life such as health, education and other vital sectors.
