Manama: A tweet by UAE Foreign Minister Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the advances in Aden of forces loyal to exiled President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi has gone viral on the Internet and pushed the number of viewers of a special hashtag to millions.

“The glad tidings of victory are emanating from Aden on these blessed days, thanks primarily to God, and then to the Saudi leadership of the Arab coalition and to heroic Yemeni fighters,” Shaikh Abdullah tweeted to his 1.9 million followers on Twitter.

The tweet was re-tweeted more than 7,350 times in less than 15 hours.

The tweet posted by Shaikh Abdullah used the Aden victory tidings hashtag allowing millions of viewers to read it.

According to Saudi news site Al Marsad, more than 53 million people have seen the hashtag.

The hashtag has topped the microblog chart, particularly after Shaikh Abdullah posted his tweet, it said on Thursday.

Comments overwhelmingly welcomed the minister’s tweet, saying that it reflected the latest developments in the war against Al Houthi militia and the efforts to restore the rule of Hadi’s government in Yemen.
