AL BAYDA, Aden: More than 20 leaders and members of Al Houthi militias were killed and five others injured in a battle with the Yemeni National Army and the National Resistance Forces on Friday in Al Bayda Governorate of Yemen.

Yemen News Agency quoted a military source as saying that 50 Houthis were captured by the Yemen National Army.

The source added that an Arab Coalition air strike targeted a military vehicle belonging to Al Houthi militias, killing all occupants.

Meanwhile, the Yemeni government has filed an official complaint with the UN envoy Esmail Ould Shaikh Ahmad, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the ambassadors of the 18 countries sponsoring peace in Yemen against the illegal actions committed by Al Houthi militias, including the confiscation of the bank accounts of thousands of their opponents.

The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in a memo carried by the official Yemeni News Agency said that such behaviour highlights the dangers of maintaining silence over the mass violations perpetrated by Al Houthi militias against the Yemeni people, including killings, kidnappings, storming of houses, and illegal seizure of property. Their actions also corroborates the militias’ lack of consideration for any peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen and their determination to render impossible any future peace settlement.

The Foreign Ministry called on the United Nations and the international community to adopt a decisive stand and take serious measures against such barbaric actions, and condemn them as flying in the face of all relevant international resolutions and obstructing peaceful solutions.
