Dubai: Warplanes from the Saudi-led coalition hit two small boats Saturday allegedly carrying weapons to Al Houthi militants on the southern coast of Yemen, a military official said.

Weapons were being unloaded from the two fishing boats near Belhaf, in Shabwa province, when the pre-dawn raid struck killing three smugglers, the military official said requesting anonymity.

Meanwhile, President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi has called on Yemenis in the Taiz province to continue their resistance against Al Houthi militants until Yemen’s ‘expected victory’. Meanwhile,

Winning the war will allow the residents of Taiz to enjoy security and stability and resume their normal lives, Hadi said during a phone call with the leader of the Western Front in Taiz Brigadier Yousuf Al Sharaji, the London-based pan-Arab daily Alsharq Al Awsat reported on Saturday.

Hadi was briefed on the latest developments in the region and on the combat readiness of the armed forces and the resistance, as they prepare to liberate the province from Al Houthi militants and supporters of ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Hadi paid tribute to the heroic role of the armed forces and the resistance, and their valiant defence of the province against Al Houthi militants who have killed innocent people, destroyed houses and schools and threatening women and children, the daily said.

All Yemenis in the province should stand together and support the armed forces and the resistance as they preserve security and stability and protect public and private property, Hadi said.

Al Sharaji said that Hadi’s return to the homeland and his deep interest in the military operations was a shot in the arm for legitimacy.

He added that his presence in Yemen gave the armed forces and the resistance a great impetus to continue the fight against Al Houthi militants and Saleh supporters who have caused chaos, undermined security and stability and destroyed the infrastructure, the daily added.

Sharif Al Hariri, the spokesperson for the resistance in the south, said that a military and security force has arrived in Aden to bolster security.

Al Hariri expressed gratitude to the member countries of the Arab coalition, stressing the roles of the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

In Taiz, after Friday prayers, worshippers reiterate their full support to the Arab coalition and their keenness on lifting the siege imposed by Al Houthi militants and Saleh followers.

Carrying banners that expressed support for the coalition and pictures of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the residents staged a rally after the prayers.

The sermon paid rich tribute to the coalition for supporting the Yemenis resist Al Houthi militants, the daily said.
