Manama: The states forming the coalition that launched military strikes to restore legitimacy in Yemen on Tuesday evening announced the end of the Storm of Resolve and the launch of Reviving Hope Operation.

The coalition states said the Reviving Hope Operation will tackle the movements and military operations by the Houthis militias and their allies.

The statement added that the Reviving Hope Operations would continue to block weapons to the Houthis and to former president Ali Abdullah Saleh through the sea and the air thanks to close monitoring and thorough searches.

The coalition statement was issued shortly after the Saudi defence ministry said that the Storm of Resolve Operation led to the imposition of an aerial domination to prevent any aggression against Saudi Arabia and the states in the region.

“The airstrikes have succeeded in removing the threats to Saudi Arabia and to the neighbouring countries through the destruction of heavy weapon and ballistic missiles that the Houthi militias and their allied forces took from the bases and camps of the Yemeni army,” according to the statement, carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

The coalition said it supported Security Council Resolution 2216 and stressed its keenness on protecting Yemenis and their achievements.
