Aden: Major-General Jaafar Mohammad Sa’ad, Aden’s new Governor, has commended the role that the UAE forces have played in liberating Aden from Al Houthi militants and forces loyal to Yemeni ex-president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

In a statement to the UAE-based daily newspaper, Al Ittihad, the governor said, “We will never forget the role that the UAE has played in the liberation of Aden. The results of the efforts exerted by the Emirates Red Crescent have been seen in different fields which proves the genuineness of the brotherly relations between the UAE and Yemen.”

He went on to say, “We have high hopes regarding the Saudi-led Arab Coalition’s plans to help in rebuilding Yemen and revive its economy.”

Meanwhile, Former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa has also praised the great role played by the UAE in combatting foreign aggression and defending the interests of the Arab countries, particularly in its role in defending Yemen’s legitimacy. Speaking on the sidelines of the Beirut Institute Summit, which kicked off Saturday in Abu Dhabi. Moussa noted that any perceived weaknesses of Arab states could tempt other countries to meddle in its affairs.

The message of Operation Decisive Storm was the rejection of foreign domination, Moussa explained, adding that the operation served as a warning to other countries that regional stability should be based on cooperation and not interference.
