Manama:  Qatar's Emir Shaikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani has reshuffled the cabinet, naming 35-year old Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani as foreign minister.

Khalid Bin Mohammad Al Attiyah who was foreign minister since June 2013 was named as state minister for defence.

Salah Bin Ali Al Ghanem was appointed minister of culture and sports, Eisa Bin Saad AL Jafali Al Nuaimi minister of administrative development, labour and social affairs, Jassem Bin Saif Al Sulaiti minister of transportation and communication, Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi minister of municipalities and environment, and Hanan Bint Mohammad Al Kawari minister of public health.
 

Profile: New foreign minister


Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani, the new Qatari minister of foreign affairs, was born on November 1, 1980.

After graduating with a BA in Economics and Business Administration, from Qatar University, in 2003, he joined the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in 2003 as an Economic Researcher. He was later named Director of Economic Affairs, a post he held from 2005 until 2009.

Shaikh Mohammad was appointed Manager for the Project on supporting and developing small and medium scale State enterprises at the Ministry of Business and Trade in March 2009, and in November, he was named Director of Department for Public- Private Sectors Partnership, at the Ministry of Business and Trade.

In June 2010, he became the Secretary of the Personal Representative of the Emir for Follow-up Affairs, at the Emiri Court and in June 2010, his official biography said.

He has been Assistant Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Affairs since January 2014.
