Muscat: A 50 year-old Indian worker was found murdered with his throat slit in Mutrah province on Tuesday, Royal Oman Police said.

The official added that the culprits were stalking the victim when he got back from work to his flat. “They were waiting for him near his residence,” said the official.

The accused pushed him inside his flat when he opened the door, then beat the victim and slit his throat after, explained the official.

The victim used to carry thousands of rials with him regularly.

The victim was identified as Sathyan, hailing from Thiruvanathapuram in the South Indian state of Kerala.

The deceased was working as a collection agent at a foodstuff company in Muscat.
