Muscat: The Oman Post company has been ordered to pay 1.5 million rials (Dh14.25 million) to company employees after the plaintiffs sued the company over their low remuneration.

The Administrative Judiciary Court ruled in favour of 41 employees.

Defence lawyer, Ahmad Al Ajmi said the company has already started to pay the employees their compensation.

It may be recalled that more than 600 employees of Oman Post went on strike in March demanding salary increases and improved working conditions.

Oman Post has 95 offices across the country.

In July, the Seeb Primary Court ruled against Oman Cables Company for artibtarily firing some of its employees.

The court ordered the company to pay more than 900,000 rials in compensation. The company is appealing the verdict.
