Muscat: Four people were killed on the spot in a head-on collision between a truck and a light vehicle on Izki-Sinaw road, north of Oman, on Saturday afternoon.

According to a Royal Oman Police source, the driver of the light vehicle while trying to overtake several vehicles collided head-on with a heavy truck coming in the opposite direction.

One of the victims was burned to death after the light vehicle caught fire under the impact of collision.

Three of the killed were Omanis and another was a Pakistani national.
