Manama: Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid Bin Ahmad Al Khalifa said that the United Nations should reconsider its stances regarding developments in the region.

“The United Nations should demand guarantees regarding Houthi [militia] and its Iranian missiles as well as Qatar and its broken promises, not regarding the legal procedures taken by Saudi Arabia,” Shaikh Khalid posted on his Twitter account.

A United Nations official had reportedly expressed concern after the Saudi-led coalition closed all airports, seaports and land crossings in Yemen following the launch from Yemen of a ballistic missile towards the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The missile was intercepted near King Khalid Airport on Saturday evening, and traffic was not disrupted. The coalition said that the closure was necessitated by security concerns.
