Manama: Bahrain was shaken to the core on Tuesday morning after police announced that the dead body of a three year-old-boy had been found in the trunk of a car.
Firas Mohammad Ahmad was reported missing since 6pm on Monday, when the family could not find the boy, after he had gone out to play.
A frantic search was launched.
The body was discovered on Tuesday morning by a pharmacy employee who reported a foul smell coming from the trunk of a car parked in the parking lot of the Hidd Club, near Firas’ home.
When the trunk was opened, witnesses were shocked by the morbid discovery. Security authorities were alerted and an investigation has been launched.
The police confirmed the discovery of the body.
“Body of a boy, three, found in a car in front of a shopping centre in Hidd,” the ministry posted on its Twitter account.
