Prince Khalifa visiting a majlis - BNA

Manama: Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed the need to reinforce the culture of Ramadan majlises among the youth.

All young people and youths should be closely acquainted with the spirit and significance of majlises in order to be fully aware of Bahrain’s deep rooted history, Prince Khalifa said as he visited majlises on the second eve of Ramadan.

The majlises could be used to consolidate social bonds between the various segments of the society and strengthen understanding and the exchange of views and ideas, he added.

Bahrainis, like citizens of the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries use the early part of the Ramadan evenings to visit majlises opened by several families to host friends and work colleagues. Several diplomats posted in Bahrain have also been using majlises to meet people and engage in discussions with them over a vast array of issues. Several women have also started setting up weekly majlises.

Prince Khalifa has regularly used the evening gatherings to meet with people and discuss with them issues related to the latest developments in the kingdom.

Bahrainis need to hold on to their patriotic values shared by the society in order to ensure that the nation is united, Prince Khalifa said, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported. Citizens should work together to build on achievements and to move forward, especially after the country has now moved beyond a difficult stage thanks to the laudable dedication and devotion of its people to the nation, he said.
