Manama: King Hamad Bin Eisa Al Khalifa has expressed full confidence in Egypt as a prime tourist destination, and commended the efforts of its government to ensure security and to provide outstanding services for visitors and guests.

Visiting beaches at Sharm Al Shaikh, King Hamad hailed the tourism facilities, the rich environment and the various sites, and hailed the efforts being exerted by the government to develop the tourism sector in the zone through resorts that attract tourists from all over the world.

“These development projects prove that Egypt is the country of security”, he said, adding that Egypt will always be strong thanks to its leadership, government and people.

He hailed the developments undertaken in the resorts as well as the diverse and rich programmes and activities being lined up to attract tourists from all over the world.

During his tour, King Hamad took a swim and played beach volley ball and golf. He stressed the importance of practising sports that enable people to keep fit and entertain themselves so as to perform better at work, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported late on Saturday.

He also highlighted the significance for people to profit from holidays to entertain themselves at local, Gulf or Arab tourism resorts.

During a tour he took in the city, King Hamad met several Arab and foreign tourists and engaged in cordial talks with them, BNA said.

King Hamad last week conducted a visit to Cairo where he held official talks with the Egyptian leader and senior political and religious officials.

The visit during which several agreements and accords were signed was termed by both countries as highly successful.
