Manama: Five policemen were injured in a terror blast while securing Ashoora procession on Budaiya Highway in Daih in the outskirts of the capital Manama, the Ministry of Interior said late on Monday.

Kuwait also expressed its "strong condemnation" of the terror blast and spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait's "full support for Bahrain as it takes the necessary measures to protect its security and stability."

The spokesperson added that Kuwait stood against terrorism under all its forms and manifestations.

In the Red Sea city of Jeddah, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the attack and expressed its full solidarity with Bahrain in confronting all acts of terror targeting its security, stability, people and public properties.
