Amiens, France: Eighteen Lille supporters were hurt, three seriously, when a stadium barrier collapsed in the away section as the visiting fans celebrated the opening goal of the match.

The Ligue 1 fixture was interrupted in the 16th minute after Fode Ballo-Toure’s goal sparked celebrations that caused a fence separating the fans from the pitch to crumble under their weight.

Dozens of fans tumbled down on to the side of the pitch, crushed by fellow supporters, with medical staff quickly rushing to the scene to tend to those injured.

Both teams were sent to the changing rooms as the drama unfolded.
