Kabul: A Pakistani militant leader was reportedly killed in a US drone strike in Afghanistan, officials said on Sunday.

Mangal Bagh, who heads the Lashkar-e-Islam group in Pakistan’s Khyber region, was wanted for his involvement in attacks on security forces and tribal elders, Xinhua News Agency reported.

The government had also announced a bounty amounting to Pakistani Rupees 20 million (Dh700,978) for him.

Bagh had fled to neighbouring Afghanistan and had been operating from there, according to security officials.
