Hyderabad: Main opposition Congress party has reacted sharply to union minister and BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu’s attack on the proposed increase in reservation for the backward sections of Muslims in Telangana.

Referring to Venkaiah Naidu’s remarks that quota for Muslims will lead to formation of another Pakistan, Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said it was a very dangerous remark. “He is talking like a RSS worker,” Shabbir said.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Mohammed Ali Shabbir said that if Patels in Gujrat and Gujjars in Rajasthan could be given reservations what was the problem with the poor and backward sections of Muslim minority getting the same.

He said that the Congress party welcomed the idea of increasing the reservations for the BC E category.
