Hyderabad: Protests broke out in Agriculture University in Hyderabad on Wednesday after a student went missing leaving a letter behind alleging that a professor had deliberately failed him in practical examination.

Students belonging to Telangana Social Students Organisation held a demonstration demanding action against the professor named by the missing student in his letter.

According to the Rajendernagar police inspector G Suresh, the student Rahul Naik was missing since Sunday. The third year student from a tribal community in Khammam has left behind a note alleging that the professor had victimised him and deliberately failed him in practical examination of third year of agriculture science.

“A Professor is responsible for my failure. That is why I decided to kill myself. Mother, father and friends, please forgive him”, he wrote in the letter.

The letter has left the student community worried and angry. In view of the growing tension, authorities have closed the university on Wednesday.
