Patna: Authorities in India’s Bihar state on Thursday suspended three policemen after they were captured on video dancing with bar girls at a religious function.

The action came after footage of the policemen — one of them a senior officer posted at a station in Bhojpur district — went viral.

The footage shows the officers running onto the stage with the bar girls, dancing in a raunchy manner with them and also rolling out a cloth on the stage to let the bar girls dance over them as the audience looks on.

“We have suspended three policemen after video footage went viral showing them dancing with bar girls at a religious function,” Patna Zonal Inspector-General of Police Naiyar Husnain Khan told the media Thursday.

He added all the three have been suspended with immediate effect.

Khan added the departmental proceedings would also be initiated against the officers for their improper conduct in public.

“We won’t tolerate such conduct at any cost where policemen are seen dancing publicly on a stage,” the police official said adding this was not expected from a police officer.
